Welcome Back Caterpillars!

Dear Parents/Carer's,

We are so excited to welcome our new Caterpillars back to school for a brand-new Autumn Term! 

A special welcome to all our new children joining us, we can’t wait to get to know you and have lots of fun together.

This term, we’ll be busy playing, exploring, singing, creating and discovering as we learn and grow together. 

From crunchy autumn leaves to cosy stories and new adventures, there are so many wonderful things to look forward to! 

Here’s to a happy term filled with smiles, friendships, fun and lots of lovely memories.

God’s Wonderful World and Our Creative Adventures!

This week our Caterpillar's have had a lovely time exploring and learning through a variety of fun activities!

RE – God’s Creation

In RE, we learnt about the wonderful things God created, including day and night, animals, the Earth and ourselves. The children enjoyed talking about the world around us and the things that make it so special.

Black History Month

We celebrated Black History Month by learning about Garrett Morgan, who invented an important early version of the traffic light. The children enjoyed creating their own traffic lights using colourful tissue paper, helping them to explore colours and develop their fine motor skills.

Autumn Colours

We got creative with some free painting using beautiful autumn colours! The children explored different colours, experimented with their mark-making and expressed their creativity through their own unique artwork.

Well done, Caterpillar Class, for another wonderful week of learning, exploring and creating! 

Autumn Adventures, Creative Play and Special Family Moments!

Our Caterpillars have had a lovely time exploring autumn by collecting colourful leaves and discovering the changes in nature.  The children enjoyed imaginative play in the home corner, having a fun pizza tea party with their friends.  We also explored our creativity through free painting, experimenting with colours and making our own unique masterpieces. Our Stay and Play session was a wonderful success, with the children enjoying spending special time playing and sharing their nursery experiences with their parents. It has been a lovely week full of fun, laughter, creativity and happy memories!

Wonderful Me, Wonderful World!

This week, Caterpillars enjoyed reading Guess How Much I Love You. We talked together about what we could remember from the story, including the characters, the setting and the things they did. The children then explored making marks inspired by the story, using different movements and patterns to express their ideas.

In RE, we have been celebrating the wonderful things God made. We talked about ourselves and the people, animals and world around us, recognising that we are all special and unique.

Autumn Adventures: Numbers, Colours & Creativity!

It has been a lovely start to the new term as we welcome our new Caterpillars into our school.

We have been spending lots of time getting to know one another, making new friends and becoming familiar with our new surroundings.

The Caterpillars have been enjoying exploring the classroom, discovering new toys and activities, and beginning to build relationships with their new peers and adults.

We are gently supporting everyone as they settle into the routines of the day, from saying goodbye to grown-ups in the morning to joining in with snack time, play and group activities.

 Welcome to Our Caterpillar Class!

This week, the Caterpillars have been busy exploring numbers, colours and the changing season of autumn through fun and creative activities.

The children explored numbers 1, 2 and 3 by making stamps using cotton balls. They dipped the cotton balls into yellow, orange and red paint and created colourful prints. We encouraged the children to count their stamps and count up to 3.

We also explored the beautiful colours of autumn by painting leaves using brown and orange paint. The Caterpillars enjoyed using paintbrushes to make marks, experiment with colour and decorate their leaves.

It has been lovely to see the children learning through hands-on experiences, developing their confidence, creativity and curiosity while having lots of fun!
