Year 5 - Saint Luke
We began our celebrations of St Luke's Day with a treasure hunt! We had to look around our classroom to find the answers to questions. We found out that St Luke is the patron saint of doctors and artists. We then wrote prayers to St Luke and prayed together in the Chapel. It was a moving and beautiful start to our day.
Art Work - Designing Symbols and "Thank You" Posters
We designed our own symbols for St Luke, many of which included the ox, which is his special animal. We also created posters to send to our local NHS organisations. This is because St Luke is the patron saint of doctors.
The Parables of St Luke
We discovered that St Luke wrote many parables. We used Bible references to look them up and then performed them to the rest of the class.
Tea Party
We ended a special day with a celebratory tea party!
