Year 3 have had a very exciting and busy week filled with learning and creativity!
In English, we took on the role of passionate debaters. The children debated different viewpoints in pairs and small groups, using persuasive language to support their arguments. This helped us gather brilliant ideas and strong reasoning for writing our own persuasive letters. The class showed great confidence in sharing their opinions and listening respectfully to others.
In Computing, we continued our work on Scratch by becoming bug-fixers! The children explored different scripts and worked hard to spot and correct errors so that their programs ran smoothly. Debugging was a real challenge, but they showed excellent teamwork and perseverance.
In Science, we became researchers for the day as we investigated fascinating facts about fossils. The children enjoyed discovering how fossils are formed and why they are such an important part of understanding life from millions of years ago.
It’s been a fun, hands-on week of learning, and Year 3 should be very proud of everything they’ve achieved!
Week beginning: 10/11/25
This week, Year 3 showed incredible resilience as they powered through Assessment Week. We are so proud of how determined and focused everyone has been.
In English, the children had great fun creating their own Stone Age–inspired games. They worked hard to write clear rules and instructions, using all the features we’ve been learning about.
In Maths, we began exploring equal groups and arrays, laying the foundations for multiplication. The class enjoyed using practical resources to spot patterns and build their understanding.
Our Science lesson got wonderfully messy as we investigated what soil is made from. We set up an experiment to observe the different components of soil, and we’ve left the jars in the classroom to monitor any changes over the coming week. We’re excited to see what happens!
During PSHE, we launched Friendship Week. The children created thoughtful role-play scenarios to show how they would like to be treated by others, demonstrating kindness, empathy, and teamwork.
