Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to inform you that this evening our fire alarm system experienced a fault resulting in smoke coming from the fire panel unit. The fire brigade attended promptly and the situation was dealt with quickly and safely. Thankfully, no one was hurt and the damage was contained. More importantly no children and limited staff were on site at the time.

However, the fire alarm system is now out of operation and requires urgent repairs. As you will understand, it is not safe or appropriate to have children on site without a fully functioning fire alarm system in place. Therefore, the school will be closed to pupils tomorrow – Tuesday 1^st July.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but the safety of our children and staff is our absolute priority. We are working closely with the relevant authorities to resolve this as quickly as possible and will keep you updated with further information sent to you tomorrow.
