My name is Ms Peneau and I am the Year Three Teacher; working alongside me will be Mrs Butler from Monday to Wednesday and Mrs O'Neill on Thursday and Friday as well as Mrs. Duncan with us everyday.

As part of our History topic with D&T, we have made some chariots similar to those that the Ancient Greeks would have raced in, at their own Olympic games. Check out the different chariots that we have made
Today we went to the Natural History Museum in order to see real fossils and learn about what they can teach us about dinosaurs. In Science, we are learning about rocks and soil so we found it fascinating to be able to tell the difference between normal rocks and fossils. We got to handle some and to dig out two dinosaur skulls!
Today, we were priviledged to have some people come in to school to teach us about renewable energies. We learned about the different ways we can use the winds or currents in order to produce energy that will not run out. We even made our own windmills!
IN RE, we acted out the parable of the good Samaritan
In Maths, we have been using different units to measure perimeters. Check out the photos of us measuring the hall in feet and hands. We all got different results as our hands and feet are of different sizes

In maths, we have been learning how to use different tools to measure perimeters. This one was our favorite as we got to measure the perimeter of the classroom and the playground!
After learning all about what plants need. We have planted our own tomatoes in the best possible environment.
As part of our History and Literacy topic, we have been learning about Ancient Egypt. We went on a trip to the British Museum this Monday where we say lots of artefacts that we had been learning about, especially Cleaopatra's mummie.
To finish our history topic about Ancient Egypt, we have learned a song. Below is our performance.

In PE, we have been learning how to play tennis
In Literacy, we have been learning about how to write play scripts. Linking it with History, we wrote the story of Isis and Osiris as a play script. Click on the link below to read our work.
We have been learning about the months of the year in Spanish. Check out the video of our songs to memorize them.
We have gone on a trip to the Museum of London where we learned loads of things about the life of prehistoric people, especially in the Iron Age as we met Tamesubuga (an Iron Age lady) who taught us how she makes her clothes, her tools and her own house. We also got to go on a prehistoric artifact hunt throughout the museum: we had to find clues about the different tools and bones in the museum and draw conclusions from them. This links in to our Topic this term about Treasures.
In Literacy we have been learning about performance poetry: how to perform poems using different tones and gestures to make them more engaging. We performed poems that we learned over the Easter holidays, we wrote our own poems about our trip and performed them too! Happy World Poetry Day! As we celebrated Science day today in school as well, we have joined the two together and written poems about our science topic. Check out four pupils' work
Today we had a forensic scientist come in and teach us all about finding clues on a crime scene to find the thief
In Year 3, we like to read under our apple tree.
Our Science topic is Light and Shadows this half term. Today, we explored how to make shadows and we learned that the closer the object is to the light, the larger its shadow

In music, we are learning pieces on the xylophones. This is very challenging!
This half term, we are learning how to Irish dance. In Irish dancing it's so much fun!

In Year 3, we LOVE comic Friday
In maths we are learning about place value this week using lots of different tools. We even teach each other!
For our IPC topic: Fashion, we designed and decorated our own t-shirts. We then presented them in an awesome fashion show to KS1
In Year 3, we love reading. We read books and on PurpleMash. We read independently, with a buddy or in a group.
This week in Literacy, we have been looking at instructions for crafts. Can you make an origami cat following the instructions written by our pupils?

Today in Science, we looked at the bones in the human body, we described each bone, where they are in the body and made each other guess the bone. Here is three pupil's work. Can you guess the bone?
