Easter Home Learning Challange

Home learning. Week commencing 30/03

During our Science week, children have had a chance to investigate a crime scene. They had to gather the evidence and find out who committed a crime. Children had lots of fun using the aids and got successful in finding the culprit.

As a part of our topic 'Let's pretend', nursery children made their own wonderful puppets and performed a puppet play.

Our topic this term is 'Let's pretend'. Children have had the opportunity to take on different roles in different contexts when exploring traditional tales.

After the discussion about our favourite food, pizza was chosen by most of the children, so we decided to make it!

We acted out the story 'The Little Red Hen'. We used our imagination and lots of language to retell the story to our classmates. We had so much fun!

Nursery children explored how food changes in environments. We made jelly and even managed to catch The Evil Pea.

We read the story 'Supertato'. Children designed their own superhero characters using real potatoes and talked about their superpowers.

Nursery children have moved recently to a new class. They are very excited exploring the new set up.

As an entry point to our topic Food, Nursery visited our local Tesco supermarket. Children had a chance to buy the ingredients to make a healthy smoothie.

Nursery have been preparing for their Nativity!

Nursery children would like to thank their parents for coming to our Stay and Play sessions. They really enjoyed your visit!

Nursery children enjoyed retelling the story 'We're going on a bear hunt' by making different actions and sounds.

We decided to go on a bear hunt. We went through the grass, mud, river, forest and snowstorm. Finally, we found a bear in its cave. Some of us got very scared!

We read the story 'Goldilocks and the three bears'. Children took part in many activities, but making the Three Bears' Porridge children enjoyed the most.

Nursery children had 'A Teddy Bear Day'. Throughout the day they were responsible for their own little guests.

This week we have been learning about Judaism, look at the Stars of David we made!

As an exit point to our topic 'Family and friends', we invited our parents for a 'Tea party'. The children worked hard preparing cookies and fruit salad for them.

We are getting ready for Black History Assembly!

Nursery children are learning about the African culture. We read the story 'Handa's surprise' and made African animals masks.

We are having fun exploring iPads.

During RE lesson nursery children were looking at the Bible. They listened to the story of Noah's Ark and enjoyed retelling it through play. They also painted beautiful rainbows for our display.

We have been learning about friendship this week. Children created self-portraits using different tools and materials. Pupil discussed similarities and differences. They discovered that despite differences we made good friends.

Nursery have been settling into their new classroom and making lots of new friends.
