St Francis Nursery
Welcome to the Summer Term.
What an exciting term this is! Our new topic for IPC is Patterns. The children are preparing for their very first class assembly on the 21st June and we are also looking forward to our school trip to Odds Farm on July 13th.
We have also grown in size and in confidence and have made friends.
Please continue to support our Home Reading Scheme by reading to your child as often as you can. Please take time to review our curriculum information a copy of which is attached. You can also follow our weekly planning activities on the Parents Information board in the nursery lobby. If you have some spare time and would like to come in and support a group with reading or arts and crafts please come in and see me. WATCH THIS SPACE FOR OUR PHOTOS ON PATTERNS.

Look we are making some repeating patterns.
FUN ON WORLD BOOK DAY
We had World Book Day with all the children dressing up as a book character and sharing stories. It was great fun to see the children so involved and experiencing the joy of listening to and reading books. The nursery children listened to stories written by the Year 5 class. Have a look at the photos and see for yourself the fun they experienced.
WORLD BOOK DAY: Buddy Reading with Year 5. They wrote their own version of The Three Little Pigs to share with us!

Learning Opportunities include:
-Learning to explore the presence of God in the world; in people and the rituals of Church.
-Coming to know that Jesus helps us to choose the good.
- Experiencing Liturgical celebrations in a variety of simple settings.
- Experiencing and recognise prayer is talking and listening to God.

Our new IPC topic is 'Changes'.
The children are investigating what changes are occurring when a block of ice brought in by the class teacher is left out at room temperature in the classroom.
We love our new outdoor area.
We are developing gross and fine motor skills. Look at us !
