Welcome to St Bernadette's Reception Class!

Our Lady guides us as we have fun learning together,

aiming to be the best that we can be

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the autumn term!

My name is Miss Padden and I will be working along with Mrs Szymczak in reception this year. We are all very excited about the year ahead. The children have settled in very well and are very eager to learn and discover new things. Please watch this space to see all the lovely things that we will be doing in reception.

Thank you,

Miss Padden

Look how excited we were to start reception!

Having fun learning.

Our IPC topic is 'Sand and Water'. For our entry point we made sandwiches and had a picnic. We used our imaginations and pretended we were at the beach!

We were so happy that our caterpillars turned into beautiful butterflies!

Below is a video of our St.Patrick's Days assembly. I think you will all agree they did an excellent job.

We hope you enjoy it!

Our IPC topic this term is Changes. We all had fun shaking cream to change it, which resulted in us making butter.

We grew cress seeds! We observed as they changed and grew. We found out that plants need, water, light and air to grow.

Our topic this term is Plants and Flowers.

We have enjoyed observing, touching and smelling different plants and flowers. We have also loved making our own flowers using paint and craft materials.

World Book Day:

We had so much fun dressing up as different characters!

We went on a bear hunt. We went through the grass, river, mud, forest and snow storm!!

We found the bear in his cave. We were very scared and all ran away!!

We loved playing in the snow. We even managed to make a small snowman. We called it Olaf!!

Here we are with our teddy bears:
Our teddy bears loved eating, drinking, singing songs and dancing. They were very tired at the end of the day!

I think everyone will agree that our performance of 'A warm and fuzzy Christmas story' was amazing.

Here are a few pictures showing you all how lovely we looked::
