My name is Ms Delaney and I will be teaching Year Two Class this year. Ms Perkins is working with the class too as a support teacher.

Welcome back to the third and final summer term!  During this term, we plan to continue having fun learning, striving to be the best that we can be in every area of the curriculum. The children will also be preparing for their upcoming SAT’s in May and their transition in to Year 3.

Timetable for Autumn Term

  

In Maths today, we had fun counting fractions on a number line.

During History this week, we had fun comparing early 20th Century toys to modern toys.

We had fun today making our own Easter baskets!

World Book Day - Can you guess who?

Can you twist it? Can you stretch it? Does it bend? Is it elastic? Today in science, we had fun identifying and classifying different materials and explored how they can change shape!

This week, we had fun comparing the properties of 3D shapes.

Year 2 designed and created their own Cinderella carriage using a variety of materials.

Whoosh! Pow! Crash! Comic Friday has arrived with a bang and has helped us to find more onomatopoeia.

Where is God's presence? During R.E. this week, we recognised that God is present in the world around us. We identified God in nature, people and actions.

IPC entry point: All Dressed Up. Today, the children had fun dressing up in their own national clothing and sharing with each other about culture.

IPC Exit point: Seeing the Light. We had fun at the Science Museum exploring the pattern pod!

Today we had fun sorting multiples into a Venn diagram

Today in maths, we had fun creating our own number sequences!

During IPC this week, we have been learning about different time zones around the world. We had the chance to Skype someone living in Hawaii to experience a different time zone.

During English this week, we have been learning about the Great Fire of London. In groups we devised a script and performed it to the rest of the class.

During R.E. this week, we learnt about the symbols of Advent and created our own Advent wreaths.

During maths we've been estimating and measuring different lengths using centimetres and metres.

This week we have been having fun learning how to follow and write up our own instructions.

IPC Entry Point: Seeing the Light. This half-term we will be finding out about light and dark. Today we experimented with torches in the dark and found out about different light sources.

During maths this week, we've been having fun identifying 2D shapes with right angles and sorting them into Venn diagrams and Carroll diagrams.

How to prevent, detect and escape a fire!

During science, we went on a minibeast mission to identify micro-habitats and find as many creepy crawlies as possible!
